What to See in Tokyo

Tokyo is an amazing place to visit, whether it be for business or pleasure. A first time visitor might be somewhat overwhelmed at its size and abundance of things to see and do there. There's no need to feel overwhelmed. Just start out by visiting some of the most prominent and well known tourist and historical spots throughout Tokyo.

The Imperial Palace is a great place to visit on a trip to Tokyo. It is still the residence of the royal family of Japan. Tokyo was called Edo before it was changed to Tokyo. The Imperial palace was built in the center as a fortress for protection during the 250 year rule of the Tokugawa Shoguns. Today you can visit the East gardens of the palace. They're open to the public daily. This is the only part of the palace that's open for visits.

The Kabuki-Za Theater can be next on your list because it's a very entertaining and hands on activity for familiarizing yourself with Eastern culture. The plays here are epic and usually last twice as long as what most westerners are used to. Your senses will be engaged in the masterful art that the Kabuki actors don, and you will enjoy the pace of trying to keep up with the elaborate plots in the Kabuki plays.

The Ginza is a great stop off after experiencing refined art, history, and culture. It's a massive underground shopping mall and restaurant complex. There are also dance clubs and art galleries within this complex. You can do some shopping and have lunch at one of its enjoyable eateries. It is a nice break from a long day of site seeing.

What is great about the places listed here is that they can be seen by everyone, including familes with children. Tokyo is an amazing place that has all that you could want to do right there in one magnificent historical city.
